performances by VARIOUS ARTISTS

This 4 week concert series will be hosted at StoryBook and will feature some of the brightest stars and up-and-coming artists from Calgary and beyond. Each week will feature a wealth of talented performers from all ages and communities from across the globe. Take part in the Storybook community and be a part of the magic of live music!

All concerts were intended to be presented outdoors. However, with the extreme heat expected through to the early fall and no shelter for our guests, we decided to move the concerts indoors.  We will have a mix of regular table seating and bleacher seating for this event.

AUGUST  14 - Tomas & Friends

Join Tomas &Friends for an exciting night of original music at StoryBook Theatre! Straight from 20-year-old StoryBook actor, student and composer Tomas Grahame's right brain, hear the very first public performances of several new musical theatre pieces all about human connection. Tomas &Friends will feature excerpts from his musical First Encounter, a few of which were previously performed at Theatre Calgary's Spotlight at the Eddy, and his fun-filled musical for young audiences King of Pranks (book & lyrics co-written with JJ Penaranda). The concert will also include a few standalone pieces written during and inspired by the pandemic. The concert is appropriate for everyone and features a wonderful cast of familiar StoryBook voices you'll love!

AUGUST  21  - Katie & Friends

Join Katie McMillan & Friends for a trip down memory lane.  Katie has assembled an incredible list of artists and songs that will feature members of shows that she has taken part in during her years at StoryBook. This concert will feature songs from Annie, Les Mis, The Wizard of Oz, Sound of Music and many more.  It's a blast from her past where she will showcase a little something for everyone in a musical travelogue that spans her more than 10-year career on the StoryBook stage!

AUGUST  28 - Ryan & Friends

Join Ryan Maschke & Friends and get to know some of the vibrant emerging artists he gets the privilege to call his chosen family. Get ready for an exciting night of queer-coded content and see something outside of the box. With the help of some Storybook and BrownCow Collective alumni, kick off PrideYYC with Ryan, some of Calgary's hottest emerging queer artists and their fierce allies!

SEPTEMBER 5 - JP & Friends

JP Thibodeau

Join our Artistic Producer, his friends and StoryBook Alumni, as they present a wonderful concert of music near and dear to JP's heart.  With a career spanning nearly three decades, there is guaranteed to be something for everyone.  From musical theatre to pop music favourites JP and his friends will be certain to leave you smiling and singing a song in your heart.
