For Students Ages 6  to 18

The Ellie Tims Project is named after one of the founders of StoryBook Theatre whose passion for arts education allowed for students and emerging artists to have a starting point in theatre. This program will give students who otherwise cannot afford it, the opportunity to take introductory piano, dance or voice lessons to begin their journey in the performing arts.

Students can participate in a maximum of four semesters, after which time they will have solid foundation of skills in their respective area of study.

This is a 100% subsidized program and nominations for the Ellie Tims Project can be made by following the link on this page.

HISTORY

In 2014 auditions were being held for the 2015 StoryBook Theatre season.  More than 300 people came out to audition, with a large portion of those attending being students ages 10 to 14.  In that group there were countless "diamonds in the rough" each with the same kind of family story and no history of any formal training.  It was then that Artistic Director JP Thibodeau had the idea to create a program  geared towards these kinds of students, giving them a foundation in music so that their natural abilities were not lost as they grew up.

NOMINEE SELECTION

A selection committee is assembled twice a year to assess applications and grant students enrolment into the program.

The session deadlines are as follows:

AUGUST 30th for the FALL PROGRAM

JANUARY 15th for the SPRING PROGRAM
