April 4, 2020

To our valued StoryBook community,

We want to thank you all for your patience, understanding and support in these unprecedented times.  The whirlwind of theatre life has almost come to a halt but we are doing all we can to keep our chins up and persevere waiting for the time we can shine the lights on our stage again.

As a non-profit organization we thank you for your support in this difficult and unprecedented time. We look to you for your compassion and understanding in knowing that no one could plan for the situation we find ourselves in today.

March 17, 2020

To our valued StoryBook community,

We have been watching the COVID-19 situation closely as the health and safety of our employees and patrons are our number one priorities. During these uncertain times, StoryBook has been working incredibly hard to make the best decisions for all who participate and attend our programming.

With the announcement prohibiting Albertans from attending all recreational and entertainment facilities, we have made the very difficult decision to postpone, cancel or suspend all StoryBook programming as well as offices & operations, until further notice.

(Programming Status and Information found below)

As such, we will not be able to respond to any emails or calls relating to suspended or postponed programming. Upon our return, we will be able to better assess the situation and at that time provide all our patrons with an informed response and plan of action.

Anyone who was registered in any upcoming programs or those with tickets to any of our upcoming productions would have been sent an email on Tuesday, March 17th at 5pm.  If for some reason you did not receive this email, we do apologize. the same information can be found here on this page.

As a non-profit organization we are asking for your support in this difficult and unprecedented time. We look to you for your compassion and understanding that no one could plan for the events put before us all.

We thank you for your patronage and understanding and look forward to sharing the magic of theatre with you once again.

Thank you.

March 11, 2020
StoryBook Theatre takes concerns surrounding coronavirus (COVID-19) seriously. We are closely monitoring the situation and will continue to check and follow the most up-to-date Alberta Health Services, World Health Organisation (WHO) and Government guidance on the virus. At this time, the risk to Alberta is still assessed as low. You can monitor this status by visiting albertahealthservices.ca. At this time, there have been no changes to our upcoming production schedule for the 2019/2020 season.

In addition, we have increased our cleaning regime, with special attention on our door handles, seating in the theatre space and high-volume areas.   We have also made some modifications to our programming to promote safe practices, one such change is the removal of autograph lines post-show.  Instead, we will offer a 10-minute talkback where patrons will be invited to ask questions of the actors.

Please be assured that the safety and health of our staff and visitors is StoryBook's top priority. We will be continuing to monitor the status of the situation and implementing any new recommendations set by the aforementioned governing bodies. Be sure to check this page for updates surrounding our coronavirus (COVID-19) measures as they become available, and follow us on all of our social media platforms for the latest.
