SHOW SUMMARY
In an inspiring fusion of local talent and popular Broadway show tunes, Storybook Theatre is thrilled to announce its annual MisCAST fundraiser event. In this evening, the conventional casting norms of musical theatre are tossed aside in favour of creativity, diversity, and surprise. More than 40 professional and emerging artists will come together to deliver reimagined versions of Broadway’s hottest hits, performing in roles they typically wouldn’t be cast in. Now in its XX year, this dynamic showcase promises to be a delightful celebration of musicals and serves a vital cause, raising funds for Storybook Theatre’s Ellie Tims Project.
MisCAST is more than just a night of entertainment; it is a testament to SBT’s and its supporters’ commitment to fostering an inclusive community where the arts are accessible to all, regardless of socioeconomic status. Proceeds raised from this spectacular evening will directly support the Ellie Tims Project, which creates scholarships and bursaries for deserving students for SBT’s Theatre School Programming. The project aims to create greater access to performing arts education, continuing the organization’s mission to “Never say no to a child.”
