ABOUT THE SHOW
Based on the beloved holiday film, this hilarious fish-out-of-water comedy follows Buddy the Elf in his quest to find his true identity.
Buddy, a young orphan, mistakenly crawls into Santa's bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole. The would-be elf is raised, unaware that he is actually a human until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa's permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity. Faced with the harsh realities that his father is on the naughty list and his half-brother doesn't even believe in Santa, Buddy is determined to win over his new family and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas. This modern-day holiday classic is sure to make everyone embrace their inner elf. After all, the best way to spread Christmas Cheer is singing loud for all to hear.
A title known the world over, Elf The Musical is sure to be a must-see, this holiday season. Based on the cherished 2003 New Line Cinema hit, Elf features songs by Tony Award nominees Matthew Sklar (The Wedding Singer) and Chad Beguelin (Disney's Aladdin on Broadway), with a book by Tony Award winners, Thomas Meehan (Annie, The Producers, Hairspray) and Bob Martin (The Drowsy Chaperone).

LICENSING CONDITIONS
During these uncertain times, StoryBook Theatre is in continuous communication with the companies who license the shows we intend to present. StoryBook had previously secured licensing to present all our shows live. We are now working with these companies to include the potential for an online streaming option, for each of our shows, should the pandemic dictate this course of presentation. Those conditions for licensing are under review, and in some cases, we are still awaiting confirmation. It is our desire to have both the streaming and online licensing secured for whatever shows we present this season, in order to be able to guarantee the shows we plan to offer. Should streaming licensing not be available for any particular show, we will be forced to replace that show with one allowing for both streaming and live presentations. All affected patrons will be informed on any changes relating to their bookings, as early as possible, in the given circumstances.
COVID-19 - SHOW PERFORMANCE DETAILS
If you buy tickets to our show, you will see the show! It is our hope that all of StoryBook Theatre's 2020/21 Shows will be presented live at our home theatre, Beddington Theatre Arts Centre, under the most-current group gathering recommendations. As the provincial and municipal guidelines for public gatherings, and socialization shift and adjust, we are ready and prepared to do the same, moving closer and closer to bringing our community back together again and do what we do best.
Should group gatherings not be permitted during the dates of the show, the show may be changed to an online streaming presentation. All ticket-holders will be notified of details of how we will be presenting the show 30 days prior to opening night by email.
