Once on this Island

We are so excited to have you take part in our callbacks on

SATURDAY, June 22 starting at 11:30am

Once on This Island is a story, yes. But it is a story rooted in truth, rich and varied cultural history, faith, and community. We are all storytellers, living vessels woven together with fine and intricate generational threads from those who came before us. And through this work, we will honour the ancestors.

Your callback/offering is an opportunity for you to tell us who you are, what drives your spirit, who makes your heart beat.

Please come prepared with water, snacks and anything else you might need for the time you are with us. We suggest wearing comfortable shoes and clothing that you can dance and move well in. We are not looking to see who is the most fashionable, so come prepared to show us all you have to give.We do not require anything to be memorized. While we welcome this choice, the purpose of callbacks is to see what you can do with the music and dialogue from the show - not to see how well you can memorize.

Everyone is asked to please prepare the following FOUR ITEMS:

A. CHOREOGRAPHY/DANCE

Please review the dance videos found below. This is here for you to get prepared. The dance will also be taught during callbacks but we understand that the pressure of learning in front of your peers is hard and we hope this helps level the playing field for everyone. WE ARE NOT LOOKING FOR PERFECTION, WE ARE LOOKING FOR THOSE WILLING TO TRY.
