We are currently taking registrations for two exciting full day programs this summer, featuring long time StoryBook members and respected professionals in our community. Spend a day - learn a lot!!

 

Auditioning For Musical Theatre

Instructor: Patrice Barnes

July 19, 2008 10:00am - 5:00pm Concert @ 8:00pm (by donation)

Fee: $60.00 Maximum 16 participants

Learn the keys to a perfect Musical Theatre Audition! From song choice and performance to resume building and headshots. Hone your skills in this 6 hour workshop and then participate in an evening concert for family and friends.

About Patrice Barnes - holds a Bachelor of Music degree and is a member of both NATS and ARMTA, both both provincially and nationally. She studied voice with Ernest Atkinson, James Beer and Alexander Gray.

Patrice has performed with the Calgary Opera in over 50 operas and was a soloist with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, Festival Chorus, CBC. Not only a Musical Director for StoryBook Theatre, Front Row Centre Players and Choral Director for Stage West, she is also a frequent adjudicator for music festivals throughout Alberta.

Discover your potential to become a great Stage Manager! Learn skills for filling our rehearsal reports to taping out a successful floor plan. This 6 (six) hour workshop will provide you with a solid understanding about what it takes to be a successful Stage Manager.

About Emma Brager: Emma has worked as a stage manager in professional, academic and community theatre settings. Holding a B.F.A. in Drama from the University of Calgary, Emma has been involved with StoryBook Theatre since 2004. She is also a staff member with the Calgary International Children's Festival. Past production credits include: Writer's Block and Trout Stanley for Ground Zero Theatre, The Thebans and The True Life Fiction of Mata Hari for the U of C Drama Department, and Dads! The Musical and The Best Christmas Pageant Ever for StoryBook Theatre.
